Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed blade that is dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a V notch that is dovetailed to the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The one piece smooth wood stock has a straight grip, straight comb, and hard rubber buttplate. The stock shows light wear from handling and storage. The wood shows a few minor compressions, scrapes, and scuffs, notably on the bottom of the stock. The left side of the buttstock shows a 1” crack. The LOP measures 13 1/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The buttplate shows light wear. The wood to metal fit is tight. This stock rates in about Very Good Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There are a couple spots of light erosion. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates an 8.5 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear from handling and storage. Some spots show a brown patina and scattered light oxidation. There are some scattered scuffs and scratches. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 02 was a bolt-action plinker designed with young shooters in mind, and manufactured between 1914-1927. The rifle can fire either .22 Short, Long or Extra Long rounds, all depending on the shooter's preference. This is a solid option for Winchester and historical firearms collectors.
