Our Assessment: This Winchester Model 58 is complete and ready to go. This is a very lightweight rifle and can be taken down with the removal of one screw. This is the type of rifle every boy had growing up during the Great Depression, and the type that taught the “greatest generation” how to shoot. That said, it’s a scarce little piece, with a bit less than 39,000 made between 1928-1931. This example is in pretty good shape for its age, and is ready for another lifetime of plinking and target shooting. The best part is: “It’s a Winchester!”
