Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 92% of its metal finish. There are scattered handling marks, scuffs, and draglines. There is some scattered light oxidation. The action shows operational wear. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Very Good Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the installed scope and one original Vintage Winchester blued 5-round magazine marked “MADE IN U.S.A. / WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK” on the bottom floorplate. The “3 rib” design on the body means the mag was produced from ca. 1954-1963.
Our Assessment: Winchester introduced the Model 69 bolt action .22 rifle in 1935 in the depths of the Great Depression. It was the ideal mid-price .22, with a long barrel, high quality wood stock, and 5 round magazine. It became the Model 69A in 1938, and was manufactured until 1963 when it was discontinued along with many others. The rifles were never serialized (a requirement mandated for firearms only after 1968). This rifle is in Very Good Plus condition, can be used for plinking and target shooting, and should appeal to Winchester collectors and .22 rifle enthusiasts alike.
