Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear or damage, just light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 100 was the sleekest, and perhaps the most accurate, semi-automatic sporting rifle of its time. It was produced from 1961-1973, with around 262,838 manufactured. In 1963, the .284 Winchester round was introduced as Winchester’s answer to the .280 Remington cartridge. The .284 can be regarded historically as an early short magnum, and was unique, featuring a short, fat case with a rebated rim. Winchester Model 100s chambered in .284 Winchester are by far the rarest to encounter today. Due to an issue with the firing pin on some Model 100 Rifles, which could cause serious safety hazards, Winchester initiated a recall for the gun in 1990 and offered to repair the gun free of charge. Please note that this rifle does not include any paperwork addressing whether or not it has been serviced based on this recall. This is a beautiful old Winchester semi-auto rifle in a rare caliber, and it will certainly appeal to collectors.
