Stock Configuration & Condition: The interior of the stock has been built up with epoxy to better fit the action and increase the rifle’s accuracy. The stock is smooth wood with a pistol grip, straight comb, sling swivels at the front and rear, and a brown synthetic handguard. The buttstock has a checkered metal butt plate that swivels up to reveal a second checkered buttplate underneath. The second buttplate has a trapdoor covering two holes in the stock for storage of cleaning equipment. The wood shows scrapes and compression marks, most of which are small or light. The LOP measures approximately 13 ¼” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the flip-up buttplate. The buttplate shows light wear. Overall, the stock is in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition.

The magazine appears to function correctly.
Our Assessment: The M1A semi-automatic rifle was introduced by Springfield Armory Inc. in 1974, based on the M14 rifle, and produced for the civilian and law enforcement market in the US. "M1A" is the proprietary name for Springfield Armory Inc.'s M14-pattern rifle. Early M1A rifles were built with surplus USGI parts until Springfield Armory Inc. began manufacturing their own parts.
This Springfield Armory Inc. M1A Rifle was made between 1991-92 and is in Very Good Plus to Fine condition. It’s chambered in .308 Winchester (7.62x51mm, AKA 7.62 NATO), features a mix of USGI and Springfield Armory Inc. parts, 95% of its original parkerized finish, a 22” barrel, and a strong bore with sharp rifling, and the interior of the stock has been built up with epoxy to better fit the action and increase accuracy. This rifle is impressive.
