FN Browning Model 1910 Belgian Military Semi Automatic Pistol
Our Assessment: This WWI Belgian military marked pistol is in about Fine overall condition. It was made just before WWI (as determined by the slide markings) and has a great bore. The John Browning-designed FN Model 1910 pistol was produced from 1912 to 1975 in both .32 and .380 A.C.P. calibers. Browning couldn't get Colt to produce it, so he patented it in Europe and had it produced by FN. A Model 1910, serial number 19074, chambered in .380 A.C.P. was the handgun used by Gavrilo Princip to assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo on June 28, 1914, an act that arguably precipitated the First World War. This nice looking example was produced for the Belgian military and bears the military acceptance stamps. It is in fantastic condition for having survived WWI. If it escapes the collectors, it will make someone a nice little carry gun.
