Enfield No4 MkII .303 British Bolt Action Rifle 1949
Our Assessment: The Enfield No4 Mk2 rifle is a variant of the No4 MkI rifle that was produced after World War II. The No4 Mk2 featured a number of improvements over the No4 MkI, including a modified bolt. The No4 Mk2 was the standard issue rifle for the British military from the 1950s until it was replaced by the L1A1 SLR (Self-Loading Rifle) in the late 1950s. It saw service with the British military and was also used by many other countries. The No4 Mk2 is no longer in military use, but it remains popular among collectors and shooters. This Enfield No4 Mk2 was made by the Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF) Fazakerley in England back in 1949. The numbers on the receiver and bolt handle match. The magazine was replaced during a rebuild. There is an import mark on the receiver.
