Ruger Single-Six .22LR & Magnum 50 Years Special edition Single Action Revolver & Box
Our Assessment: The Ruger Single-Six is a popular line of single-action revolvers produced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. and was first introduced in 1953. The Single-Six revolvers are known for their classic design and robust construction. This example was MANUFACTURED in 2003 and is the New Model Single-Six Convertible Model 00660 Special edition 50 Years of Single Six 1953 to 2003. This Single-Six includes two cylinders, one for .22LR and one for .22 WMR. The New Model Single-Six introduced a transfer bar safety system, which allows the revolver to be safely carried with all six chambers loaded. The transfer bar prevents the hammer from striking the firing pin unless the trigger is fully pulled to the rear. This Ruger Single-Six has a 4 5/8" barrel, well preserved blued finish, beautiful Cocobolo wood grips, it has strong mechanics, and an excellent bore. The top of the barrel has a gold color enhanced roll mark "50 year of single-six 1953 to 2003" and comes with a special edition red Ruger box. The Ruger New Model Single-Six is well known for its build quality, reliability and versatility. This special edition Single-Six convertible will be perfect for cowboy action shooting and will go well in any revolver collection.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a rounded fixed blade attached to the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch and groove that are integral to the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: These are two piece Cocobolo wood grips with Red & Silver Ruger Phoenix medallions. The wood shows a few light handling marks. These grips rate in about excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, this bore rates a 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its metal finish. The blue finish shows a couple of light handling marks. There is a very faint turn line through the finish on the cylinder. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in about excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions Correctly. We did not fire this firearm. The cylinder locks with barely noticeable play on each chamber. We have cleaned this firearm and performed a mechanic's check but expect many will want to clean the firearm again depending on their standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This Single-Six includes its original serial matching box, manual, gun lock, test cartridge, two cylinders, one chambered for. 22LR and one for .22 WMR. This revolver also includes a letter from Ruger confirming this Single-Six was MANUFACTURED in 2003 in Newport, New Hampshire.
