engraved Chrome West German Model PPK .32 Auto Semi Automatic Pistol & Box, 1966Our Assessment: This a Walther Model PPK made in 1966 before they enlarged the pistol to the PPK/S to get around the restrictions of the 1968 Gun Control Act. Consequently, it has also made it here to the States without an import mark. This example has extensive oak leaf relief engraving and a silver plate finish, a beautiful specimen of a PPK. Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade integral to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a "U"-notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Grip Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered brown plastic panels. The grips show minor handling wear, most notable at the bottom-rear. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is light gray and the rifling is sharp. There is scattered light erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 7 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. Some areas show discoloration which should polish out easily. There are some scattered light marks. The screw head is sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a more thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a blue snap-top jewelry-style display case with a single magazine.
