Jack Campbell Douglas Aircraft Original Propaganda "Tokio Kid" WWII Framed PosterThe Tokio Kid was a series of 1942 American posters created by Douglas Aircraft to promote hard work, reduce tool breakage and waste. These posters were also used by Vultee Aircraft, Diamond Tool, Chrysler, Remington Rand, Westinghouse, Western electric, Carnegie-Illinois Steel. This example shows Tokio Kid typing a letter that reads "Honorable Douglas Worker:- Please to keep on taking day off to fishing and good time. Bombers not building may win war for Japan, please. So joyful! Tokio Kid." The character had a striking resemblance to Japan's Prime Minister Hidek Tojo. The Tokio Kid was the creation of two Douglas artists, Jack Campbell and Harry Bailey. Framed poster measures 22.25" x 17.25". This original vintage poster is in excellent condition.
